Since 2005, Michael has been working as a graphic designer. Having graduated from both Boston University and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), he began his career at a small ad agency in East Greenwich and has worked at a number of companies throughout Rhode Island.
In that time, Michael also started working as an artist, creating a unique and whimsical style achieved through painting on stretched upholstery fabric. He has been in numerous juried shows throughout Rhode Island and has had the honor of receiving several awards. He was also selected as 1 of 5 artist members to exhibit their work at South County Art Association’s Member’s Invitational in September, 2022. His work can be viewed at https://MichaelPekala.com
In May of 2021, Michael wrote, illustrated and self-published his first children’s book Ella Lee in To Catch a Hummingbird.
